Sean Young - Frontman / Lead Vocals

Sean grew up with music as an integral part of his life, and from before he can remember he was enjoying nap time in front of the Hi-Fi speakers, being ‘Rocked' to sleep by the likes of Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Bad Company or John Mayall. He has an insatiable passion for people and music, and is at his best, happiest and most fulfilled when on stage with Thought Police - telling a story and connecting with people. In his spare time you'll find him on his Harley “cruising the beat” and listening to the music that’s permanently in his head.

Chris Schlimper - Guitars / Backing Vocals

Chris started singing at the same time as learning to talk, but only started playing guitar at age 12...! Initially a self-taught guitarist, his early interests included folk and rock. He has always been a keen story-writer with a lively imagination, and in his teens he started to develop his song writing abilities. He later also completed jazz guitar studies with Nick Carter, which helped to significantly expand his theoretical and playing abilities. While very much influenced by the big rock bands of the 70's, his most recent musical influences include Stereophonics, Goo-Goo Dolls, Nickelback and Creed. Playing both rhythm and lead guitar with Thought Police, he is at his happiest when laying down solid riffs for the other guys to jump all over!

Brett Ward - Bass Guitars

Brett’s love of music began a month before he was born, when he attended an Albert Hammond concert at the then Three Arts Theatre in Cape Town. At the age of two weeks he was placed next to a 12” speaker to go to sleep - and he did. Brett only started playing guitar at the age of 16, through the influence of his buddy Kevin, but later changed to bass guitar as his influences and interests developed. In the early days, genres like classic & hard rock - and even some metal - helped to mould his playing style into what it is today.

Owen Ingarfield - Drums / Backing Vocals

Owen was born into a musical family and enjoyed being exposed to the guitar, piano and drums from a young age. He developed a keen interest in drumming and at age 16 joined his High School jazz band and was instantly hooked. In his Matric year he co-founded the South African Reggae/Ska band 7th Son, and between 2000 and 2005 played many nationwide gigs and festivals, and recorded two full-length albums. He was involved in several side projects and other bands before joining Thought Police in March 2009.
